Mad Men [possible spoilers] OK the episode tonight was hilarious. That is all.
I bet on Lane.
I want to read Ken's stories!
And I agree with the Whelk about god breaking the sink to get Don out of that jacket. Oh, Don, take off your shirt and fix my sink.

Really need to catch up on that series. We're only through the second season, just never have time for TV.

I love me a Pete Campbell-centric episode. He's such a little bundle of self-loathing. And loved all the callbacks. The mention of Pete's gun! Heh.

Apparently this episode was written by the screenwriter of Cool Hand luke and Dog Day afternoon.

Yeah, I knew Lane was going to kick some ass. He probably grew up horsing around at public school -- but even if he didn't, it's PETE CAMPBELL we're talking about, here.

Man...It was a real "kick Pete's ass" episode. I knew Lane would pound the little worm.
I loved the scene with Pete and the hooker, with her offering various scenarios until she hits one he can go with. "You're my king..."

I was hoping, though, Lane would go all David Robert Jones on his ass and drop some alternate-universe tech on him and evaporate him or something.

I predicted Lane would win the fight. My thinking was he'd probably had some boxing training at prep school or some such.

Trudy is so awesome, even Don was amused by the way she railroaded him into coming to her party. And she is a wonderful hostess, even laughing when that faucet blew. Peter doesn't deserve her and he's never even going to realize that he doesn't. And just wait until he gives her the clap or something.

I like Ken, and he's so stable he never gets a storyline, so it was nice to see him get one. Good thing he didn't pay attention to Roger's stupid and totally out of line lecture.

Joan's back at work where she belongs. Still wearing her wedding and engagement rings though.

In the scenes from next week, they showed Peggy in her slip saying something to a barechested guy whom we could but dimly see in the mirror behind her. Who's she going to be getting it on with? It was a slim guy with short dark hair and actually looked like it might be Peter. My other guess is it might be the new copy writer.

And how cute was Baby Campbell.

I think they set-up a future Ken storyline when he an Peggy discussed their pact. I can easily see Ken jumping ship to a younger, more hip agency and enticing Peggy to come with him.

And Baby Campbell was way cute. Think Pete was the father? LOL

Did you notice the baby was blond while both Pete and Trudy have very dark hair? Hmmm?

This doesn't mean anything, of course. My brother and sister-in-law both have very dark brown hair, and of their four children two were blond up until their teens. And I'd be surprised if Mad Men went there, given that they already have several paternity secrets going and it would be wildly out of character for Trudy to cheat on Pete.
