Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver finds Joy Division/New Order master tapes while excavating for a new restaurant in Manchester.→[More:] They were allegedly found alongside guns, gold and jewelry.

This story has warped a lot on it's journey around the 'net. Jamie's new restaurant is a former Midlands Bank building, complete with safety deposit boxes. Some sites rave about "guns, gold and jewelry," while The Daily Mail cited another paper that said a gun was found, and other sites say that no one is allowed to say what is in the boxes, let alone to look inside them. There was a page on The Sun that talked about the finds, but it's now offline. Sadly, The Daily Mail has the most complete coverage I've found, including pictures of the site and quotes from real people.

Cool. And how classy of Oliver to hand it all over to the treasury. (I admit to being a Jamie Oliver fan since he was a skinny kid no one knew who was making his first appearance on Food Network.)
