Whitney Houston passed away... I am stunned. We have all had our trials and tribulations, but this is such a shame and a tragic waste of an amazing voice. RIP Ms. Houston.
She was one of those people who I have lost touch with over the years. Sure, I heard about her drug problems and her wacky marriage, but I haven't listened to her music - until tonight. I have been running through my junior high dance set list, and I am surprised at how well the songs have stood the test of time. I think it is because of that amazing voice of hers. As far as I am concerned, she had The Voice of the 1980's. Peace out, Whitney.

I'll always feel somber when listening to her songs, even her peppier stuff, like "How Will I Know."

It breaks my heart to lose her so soon. I am hoping this is not what it likely is, a fatal relapse.

I feel almost as sad as at losing Winehouse, another formidable talent.

I bought her debut album when it came out in the mid-80s and it was one of my favourites for a few years. It was sad to see her decline and her many attempts to come back. Unlike most people who struggle with addiction, her battle was in the public eye, which must make it so much harder for someone when their every move is scrutinised.

RIP Whitney.

Really a very sad case. 48 is beyond way too young. :(

She was the voice of the '80s to me, too. Just plain good pop music. It's so sad.
