09 December 2011

Friday, Saturday, Sunday 3-point plans. [More:]

1. Friday - the local cub scouts carol service this evening. I'm going with my neighbours, whose son is one of the cubs. Everyone gets a chance to perform, either singing or acting out a little skit. Last year it was a lot of fun.

2. Saturday - a first date with a guy from OKCupid. He lives locally, he's a bit of a geek/nerd and I don't need to explain to him what Metafilter is, all of which sounds promising.

3 Sunday - second date with another guy from OKC, at the British Film Institute, to see this. Dinner afterwards.
1. Friday - Dogsitting/pizza/movie night. Some friends are going out of town for the evening and leaving their Pug with us for a sleep over. The little critter is cute as a button, but is a serious mouth breather and I fear I won't get any sleep tonight because he snores like a buzzsaw.

2. Saturday -ALLEGEDLY, we are supposed to go see some world famous house DJ spin tomorrow night. I say "allegedly" because I don't know if I can get my big girl panties on high enough to haul my ass out of my house at midnight, drive an hour, park and then walk across a beach, ford a small river (I am not even kidding about that part) and stand in a sweaty packed nightclub for hours on end. My husband says "it's an adventure", I say it's a fucking nightmare.

3. Sunday - Baking if I'm not to worn out from Saturday's alleged merry-making. Most likely I'll be baking, because I am pretty damn sure I am not going out on Saturday night.

4. - Senyar, good luck on your date! I hope he's a keeper!

1. Friday: going out to Mom's house to cook and cook and cook. For her big Christmas present this year, I "gave" her a holiday party: I offered to cater a cocktail party to her specifications. She's thrilled: she was hoping to hire me to do it, and was afraid I'd say no and she'd have to hire an actual caterer.

2. Saturday: some friends are having their big holiday open house tomorrow, too, so I'm swinging by there early to hug and say hi, then out to Mom's for her party, then home again in the evening --- and maybe hitting our friends' party again if we have time and energy.

3. Sunday: The Fella's boss got everyone tickets to see A John Waters Christmas, including the meet & greet. Excited! What a great gift!

1. Fri: Leave work early, drive to Spartanburg, SC (about 3.5 hours)

2. Sat: Attend the offroad motorcycle school at BMW Performance Center! I have wanted to do this for years and it fell together earlier this week. We use their bikes (if you crash one, they take it away and bring you another one) and learn all kinds of crazy shit. Woot!

3. Sun: Drive home, frantically make cookies for a 6pm cookie exchange party

4. Mon: (I'm off work Mondays) Sleep in then take my dog somewhere interesting, assuming I'm not too sore to move.

Friday: work, evening in. Husband may go out to see Raging Bull on big screen at the museum of the moving image (which is a few blocks away from our new place. Didn't take us long to become members!) and if so I will chill with wine, thai food and bad television.

Saturday: Friend coming into town from CT with her two kids. We were supposed to meet up with another friend who was very pregnant with her second kid, but found out this morning that second friend gave birth last night (due on the 25th). So first friend is just coming around to our place now.

Sunday: Football. Ballet lessons. Brunch with bloody marys.

John Waters! Offroading! Jealous.

1. Tonight: As usual, I'm invited to a bunch of improv things. Will try not to step on anyone's toes/hurt anyone's feelings.

2. Tomorrow: Going to see a friend as Mimi in La Bohème. Dinner and a movie date, followed by drinks at someone I don't know's birthday party.

Oddly, I guess everyone assumes stuff is planned for Saturday, so everything seems to be popping up on Fridays only lately.

3. Sunday: Last class of my current improv classes. Level 3 and Level 1 Musical; come see the shows next weekend if you're near NYC!

There's also the usual dating blah blah blah which I don't really understand. Had an OKC date on Monday, she seemed cool (went to an astronomy talk, yay!) but non-committal about a second date. Then she e-mailed me back last night. So I guess I did better than I thought. I really liked the girl from Wed. night. I felt comfortable with her. I never feel comfortable with new people. We were both zombie tired, but despite that, we seemed to get along/have fun. I'd like to see her again, but being ludicrously busy + holidays means I don't know when. =(

1. Friday night: the usual. Video games, beer, and we'll probably call out for a sub and hot wings.

2. Saturday: decorate the house! We'll do the outside during the afternoon, and then put up the tree and stuff in the evening. Xmas music, Santa hats, and adult beverages are usually involved.

3. Sunday: I may attempt some Xmas shopping. I hate the idea of going into retail-world on a weekend, but it looks like I'm not gonna have any time during the week to get it done.

Friday: Getting on a plane in a couple hours and flying to Oakland. Staying with this woman that I have not seen since high school. She was always this impossibly cool person. Dated the edgiest guys, was a hippie before anyone else was. . .I could hardly talk to her although she was not stuck up, just very, um, evolved. Well I found her on FB and she's had a very interesting life and we've struck up some conversations, and since no one in Metaland has stepped forward to offer me accommodations, she offered. Having dinner with her and roommates at her Inner Richmond flat, then crashing.

Saturday: The reason for me going down. . the memorial for a good friend in Berkeley. He lived in Oakland, and I hope to see his partner other than the memorial but that is up to her. Gonna BART over there and hang out at Berkeley Bowl and/or Ameoba Music until the event.

Sunday: An unplanned day but plenty to do just bopping around SF. Possibly go over to Oakland and see Naomi but if not, there's the beach, the Mission, the Haight, Green Apple Books, SF MOMA, maybe Coit Tower, which I have never been up, maybe drop in on Occupy there since my hostess is very involved with them. . .If anyone wants to have a drink or meal, I am open to it. I won't do all of the above-mentioned stuff but just let the day take me wherever.

Monday: Fly out at 11am for cold, foggy Eugene.

Friday: Work from the office in the morning and working from home this afternoon. Meeting some friends (previously coworkers) for a pizza dinner. Be sad that two of them suddenly can't make it for family reasons. I hope the ones that are attending take a bunch of the lemon sugar cookies I made last night.

Saturday & Sunday: Do all things that have not been done the past 2 weeks between the new job and having company last week (grocery shopping, laundry, write 2 letters, decide if I'm going to get the star wars ornament made for a friend, post office run, fix my deadbolt lock on the front door, knit on my aunt's christmas socks, clean the kitchen, etc.)

I'm rather exhausted just thinking about it.

Friday: We're having a party for my birthday! The birthday was actually on Wed. There's going to be wine, cheese, appetizers -- mostly organized by my roommate. I'm really looking forward to it!

Saturday: I've been invited to a couple of parties, but I think I might just buckle down and work (which I ought to be doing right now for that matter.)

Sunday: A Mafia party! Very casual, but I adore Mafia so I'm looking forward to it.

In between the parties, work, work, work.

1. Tonight, eating much-anticipated Chinese food.

2. Tomorrow, viola lesson and some long-overdue relaxing.

3. Sunday, ringing handbells at my church's annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.

1. Today is almost over and I have done nothing yet again. Dammit. I need to clean the house at least.

2. Saturday is work all day and then an art swap party at a gallery Sat. night. That sounds fun: hopefully there will be some new and interesting people there and I will summon up the nerve to talk to them.

3. Sunday? Another do nothing day, probably. Too many of these lately.

1. Today: Was at NARA this morning and now am home and need to feed the kitty and bake cookies for the workshop I'm going to tomorrow.

2. Saturday: Probably making a trip out to Petco with mom because I want to look at some more brands of wet food for Anubis because he doesn't seem to like Wellness.

3. Sunday: Work. And finishing up my school things.

1. Friday: I don't feel well, so I'll probably go to bed early.

2. Saturday: I don't have any money to do anything really whizbang and zippy, so I'll probably just read and listen to the radio and figure out what to make for lunch next week.

3. Sunday: See Saturday.

1. I was kind of planning on taking today off, depending on a work thing that was supposed to be over last week and is dragggggging on, so ended up working most of the day anyway.

2. Saturday - I'm going to try to do a small trashcan pottery firing. I'll probably end up doing it alone (and trying not to burn the neighborhood down) since it's kind of last-minute. Mostly I will be standing around trying to keep it burning, and then waiting for it to cool down.

3. Sunday - knitting group, more netflix watching and wondering where the time went.

Friday: is now over! Taught, food, gym, pint, made banana bread for tomorrow's...

Saturday: Mulled wine party! We're baking loads - I am stuffing dates with almonds, not even kidding - and everyone was all "oh, you guys are making more than a bag of chips?" and we're all "SLAY THEM ALL".

Sunday: go to my last dance lesson - the class is too advanced and I think that I'm a drag on everyone else! :)

Friday: we both took the day off and got haircuts, then cleaned the house before our friend arrived. We're at our bar, just finished dinner and are heading to the hockey game.

Saturday: Friend is driving back home, and in the process is dropping off my Secret Quonsar gift! I hope it works...

Then I have to go to a dress rehearsal for my choir's performance of Britten's Ceremony of Carols. I can't believe that I've been singing since age 5 and have never done it. It's GORGEOUS.

I am kind of hoping there's a way to finagle tickets to the sold-out Bon Iver show. We went in July to the opening night of their tour and it was un. real. I went in thinking, "Yeah, this might be good" and ended bawling in my husband's arms at "Skinny Love."

Sunday: Singing the Britten in church, then schmoozing at a fancy holiday party for university folks. (Hence the haircuts.)

I got an INTERVIEW!!! for Friday, so I went out and got a Ralph Lauren navy blue pinstriped wool suit -- for $13.68 at St. Vinnie's. SCORE. So I will undoubtedly spend some time attempting to put together an on-sommmmble.

Friday: last day of teaching and this guy says people should have abortions instead of chancing schizophrenic children. I really feel the need of grabbing him at the final and insisting he just don't breed. Ever.
Honestly, I'd probably say this to most of them, in hopes to prevent the spread of grammatical error.
Saturday: gah.
Sunday: ugh.

Friday: co-worker had a death in the family so I worked 7am to 9pm and then went home and coughed myself to sleep.

Saturday: regular hours and then an adventuresome bus trip to get to the good Goodwill which I haven't been able to visit for a while. Bought pants and then, since the prices were good, a computer. Realized I would never get it home without rupturing a disc and called a cab. I have such luck with every other kind of interaction with people in service/customer-service oriented positions, but cabs are the exception, and despite making supportive murmurs at appropriate intervals during the driver's conspiracy theorizing, he wound himself up and stayed angry until the calming influence of the tip, after which he carried my box up my steps. Oh well.

Sunday: will involve more of the working, and then a trip back to the Goodwill to pick up the cable I forgot. Whoops.

Mostly just coughing and being sick and trying to make both things go away. So looking forward to Christmas...

Friday: After a particulary stressful day at work, my beau surprised me by taking me to dinner. It was wonderful to unwind and relax.

Saturday: Half a day of work (had to use up my 1/2 personal day before the years' end). Spent time rummaging around my Christmas decorations looking for that danged six-outlet outdoor extension, then ended up not needing it. Strung lights on two arborvitaes, around my doorway, and on my garden arch/bench. Festive, and now I don't feel so bad as I drive through my neighborhood.

Sunday: Sleep! And in the afternoon, I'm taking my sons to a family archery day run by the local parks department. This should be fun! And both teenagers are looking forward to it.
