A Question for New Yorkers What the hell is flying through the air in this/last week's NYer cover? Tax bills?
Parking tickets, according to the magazine's Facebook page: "This week's cover, by Bruce McCall, shows a shower of parking tickets on a New York City block." Bigger version of the cover here.

Born in New York - lived there only about 8 or 9 months - but, technically I guess it's OK to pop in here....

FWIW, the New Yorker is considered a national mag....despite its title.

I know it's national (they even let ME subcribe, of all people) but there are still a lot of fairly parochial references. . .like the parking tickets, which look a lot different than the parking tickets in my little burg.

The theater, art, music, and film listings, the Talk of the Town section, the covers, and many of the features make it clear that though it may be a nationally distributed magazine, they only put out a New York edition.
