I ran into this on MeFi yesterday; I kittified Captain Beefheart's 'Trout Mask Replica', but I'm afraid to put it up on Flickr. Not exactly having permission from the Vliet estate to modify the album cover (just for myself it would be fair use, I think), would putting it up online constitute copyright violation in any way?

Heh, and you didn't even have to pay for it. Did you keep it, or did you find someone at work who wanted it like I suggested?

I agree, though. I much prefer the KtE version. If I had some gumption, I might remake a song or two as recorded by cats. Wouldn't be too difficult.
