Good news: I think I have a plan for getting to Seattle in early December.
Bad news: I have to sell everything that has no sentimental value.
Good news: I don't have much that has any sentimental value.

Good news: I have a ticket to the opera tomorrow.
Bad news: The opera lasts 5 hours, plus 2 hours of driving. I may starve.

Bad news: end of a vacation week.

Good news: it was an AWESOME vacation week in which I got to chill out at home, spend a few days with a friend who was traveling through town, catch up on some movie watching, and played a hell of a lot of video games. Also saw an amazing concert I wouldn't have been able to see if I'd had to be at work at 7 AM the next day.

Bad news: I am SO not ready for the weather to be getting colder.

Good news: We've had a fire in the fireplace almost every night for the last couple of weeks, including tonight, and I love how the house feels when there's a fire going.

Bad news: my kittie went in for an operation this morning.

Good news: she's back home now and fine!

Good news: Everything is settled with the new job; I start 11/28.

Bad news: Yesterday I got an email from my manager wanting to (finally) talk about my official transition to the project I've been working on, which has been in process for months now no thanks to HR. Talk about awkward. So we're talking Monday and I'll hijack the meeting to give notice.

Good news: I ordered a new phone -- it's a htc inspire and my first smartphone.

Bad news: I think I ordered it too late to get it on Monday. *pout*

Good news: I put my down comforter on the bed last weekend.

Bad news: It's been a struggle to get up every morning since then as my mattress + comforter = my kryptonite.

Bad news: I have a $10 DSW coupon and couldn't find anything in the store or online to buy.

Good news: husband out all night today so I was looking forward to a nice evening alone with a glass of wine and bad television.

Bad news: so of course the kid decided be a little pain about going to bed and then to power chuck everywhere at around 9.30.

Good news: she was fine after that and is now asleep

Bad news: I have to do laundry. Now.

Good news: it's been nice to have the mister home on vacation for so long

Bad news: the reason he's home is because of the ongoing heart issues

Good news: the operation is only 12 days away

Bad news: the mister will have no vacation days left after all is said and done

FYI: The way their union set it up sick days is screwy. If he has to take more sick time, it will turn into long-term disability and we don't want to get into that yet.

Good news: It's Friday night! We went to a cabaret show some friends did and now we are home chillin' with our pets.

Bad news: Work is making me crazy. It's been 4 months and everything they told me about where I might end up in the reorganized department changes regularly. Makes me SO MAD. They keep saying, you'll have a job, you'll have a job- first off, why should I believe that, everything I've ever been told about my employment status ends up not being true. Second off, I don't want just a job (I mean, I'll take it if necessary, but it's not ideal), I would like to do something interesting and career-advancing and I was told that was what I was getting and now I don't know what's going on. Gaaaaah. So annoying.

Good news: It's NYC marathon weekend! I love going to the marathon and cheering for the runners. And I hear the weather will be nice.

Good news: I woke up with the alarm and puttered around for 20 minutes getting my day started, with over an hour to go before meeting my mother for some chores.

Bad news: THE FREAKING ALARM CLOCK RESET ITSELF OVERNIGHT. It must have thought we were in daylight savings time, so it went back an hour while I slept. When I finally glanced at the computer clock, I saw that I had not roughly an hour to get ready, but two minutes to get ready. Dear imposssibly-complicated alarm clock: I never liked you but now I WILL DESTROY YOU. Like, literally. I'm not even giving the cursed thing to charity; it's let us down too many times.

Good news: I showed up ten minutes late and Mom laughed and laughed at my story.

Bad news: I showed up unwashed and with dirty hair. Heck, I'm not even sure I washed my face.

Good news: Farmers' market! Squash! Greens! Carrots! Beets! Saw my cousin, who sells goat cheese! Had a nice chat with my favorite farmer!

Bad news: I twisted my giant big toe walking along the path. How? Dunno. It'll be fine.

Good news: I have the rest of the day to tidy up the apartment, which is great because...

Bad news: ... it's a sty in here!

Good news: The Fella will be home at ten! With a pizza! For me to eat!

Pizza. It's been months since I had pizza. Hmm...

Usually, pizza is a homemade, moderately healthy, heavily-vegetabled dinner at our house, but with take-out all bets are off. I have a feeling he'll be picking up whatever double-cheese monstrosity is easiest.

AND I WILL EAT EVERY BITE BECAUSE I SO DESERVE PIZZA.

Well, "deserve" might be putting it a bit strong. But I had a BAD MORNING and HE IS BRINGING ME PIZZA because he's mighty sweet and also because it freaks him out when I flip out and self-castigate like I did this morning and pizza is a flailing attempt to make me feel better.

To sum up: PIZZA. ALSO PROBABLY A GLASS OF WINE. HELL YES.

Everyone deserves pizza.

Bad news: I didn't like it. Nothing wrong with the pizza, it's me. So many things don't taste good any more. White bread and other white dough things particularly.
