I look at the human eyes and immediately think, "My eye is a sphincter! Ewwwwww!" Then I blink a lot.

Huh. I tried to take a macro shot of my own eye once, but it didn't turn out nearly as good as these.

Though it was amusing to find out you can see the focussing screen of an SLR camera from the lens end of it (including the little red focus confirmation square), which helped a bit.
