Cartoonists Remember 9/11 [More:]

Scroll to the bottom to see the strips. My favorites are Mother Goose and Grimm and Rhymes With Orange.
I liked the Doonesbury one.

Zippy was the only one of these I liked.

Candorville came close.

"Snuff Smith" was awful. And I don't understand "Baby Blues."

"Sally Forth" pretty much sums up how I feel today, though.

Personally I think that they all suck. I'm tired of all this bullshit. And a comic is the very last place I want to see this maudlin crap. If you want to know why I'm such a dick, feel free to PM me.

After themanwho noted a few that did NOT participate, I went to the trouble of listing most but not all the comics with NON-9/11 themes today. And linked to Bizzaro's Dan Piraro explaining why he passed on it. But I still can't believe Zippy participated and Ziggy didn't.

I think I know what you mean, Splunge; I much preferred Terrence Nowicki's take on the whole thing. The two comics I liked out of this bunch were the ones that brought up America's continuing bloated and self-destructive response to the attack.

But you know, someone starts up with mawkish displays of weeping eagles and man, if you don't start with the never forgetting and the troop supporting, you are, to borrow a phrase, The Greatest Satan of All Time.

Somewhere I was reading about the way images of the attacks were being carefully deployed to keep people in the maximum state of anxiety and despair for as long as possible, since they seem to herd better that way. Almost all of these comics do exactly that.

Yuck.

I want to apologize for being so outspokenly cynical and angry. It was a bad day for everybody. I'm sorry.
