Leftover buttermilk? SORBET!!! If anyone tries this, let us know. The earliest I can get buttermilk is next month. I cannot begin to imagine what this tastes like.
I would, but I don't have an ice cream maker thingy. I'll bet it's awesome.

Handmade sorbet is pretty easy. A thorough stir every hour pretty much does it. More often won't hurt it at all.

I found another recipe that adds almond extract. But hey, Am-a-ret-to! amirite?

Another lovely use for buttermilk which makes an impossibly delicious summer treat is to freeze a bunch of nectarine or peach slices, and then put them in a blender with buttermilk and a pinch of sugar (the sugar possibly being optional depending on the degree of ripeness of the fruit.) Best smoothie/shake thang EVAR.

I haven't tried buttermilk since I was a kid and have no idea if I'd like it as an adult, but the sorbet sounds good.
