Dear Photograph This was already on MeFi so I'm late to the party, but it's great, so I thought I'd share it here too.
It made me sad, because I don't have that continuity in my life, of family and places going back through generations.

I am sure a lot of those people no longer have family members in those houses. I was thinking how much I'd like to do this on the front porch of the house I grew up in, in New Jersey, which hasn't been in the family for 15 years now.

Those are really wonderful. Not sure if I have any family pics taken in a place that still exists/that I could still access, either, or I'd love to do this.

My parents still live in the house where I was born 43 years ago. So, for now, I don't need a picture.
I find those pictures very sweet.

Wow, that is totally great. I'll have to check the family archives for something. Well, I would have to travel back to my Davis hometown for anything good from my immediate family, and back to Holland for my extended family...

Very poignant.

It kind of makes me sad too, Senyar. We moved around a lot, and for some reason my mom always thought of photos as something extravagant. We would often have two Christmases on the same roll of film.

Now she takes digital ones, but leaves them on the camera...
