To-Do List! What's yours this week?[More:]Among other things, I need to:

*Hang the framed photographs in the living room. I used magazine cutouts the size of the frames last night to mark how I wanted them on the wall, I think they're going to look great!
*Hang my newly painted silver bulletin board in the kitchen.
*Figure out if all the odds & ends on the kitchen cart need to stay there, or if some can be relocated. I'm looking at you, empty oil & vinegar bottles.
*Find spray paint for the wicker chair in the living room. I'm thinking purple!
*Find a nice plant for the windowsill in the bathroom. Hopefully a nice grass of some kind.
*Open up the light fixtures in the kitchen and bathroom and see if I can add or change out the bulbs. The light coming out now is not quite bright enough at night.
*Go to gym Mon, Wed, Fri.
*Eat leftovers so none go bad.
*Get to produce guy on Broadway to buy fruits & veggies.
* Equine dentist is coming Weds.
* Need to get around to making people dentist apptmts.
* Got a couple more calls to make. Ugh.
* Every day I'm up for it, still trying to get the property back in shape, focusing on the driveway currently. Lots of sweaty yardwork in the sweaty humid outside.
* I'd really like to ride the horses a couple of times this week. I've been too sick for a few weeks.

- tidy my spare bedroom
- make Chinese-style soup, which involves marinating the pork tonight and making the soup tomorrow or Wednesday
- remember to feed neighbour's cats on Tuesday and Thursday
- root touch-up at some point
- running group tomorrow for our final 5k run - except that the forest is going to be a quagmire, so I'm hoping the route will be changed to something a little less soft
- more running on Thursday and at the weekend
- make more fuss of Lucy

- Get done all the work crap that has been hanging over my head before the weekend.

That's really it. But it's unlikely to happen.

Ahahahaha, my to-do list just got shot to hell. I was going to spend the day with an overnight houseguest, then clear every single thing out of the bathroom once again to get ready for the plumbers once again (who are ONCE AGAIN scheduled to arrive with the landlord bright and early tomorrow), then pack up and head out for an easy overnight visit with The Fella's family.

But then this morning we were awakened by a clanging: the plumbers arrived 24 hours ahead of schedule and removed our toilet while we AND OUR HOUSEGUEST were sleeping.

That's right: after the minorly-major screw-up last time, this time the the plumbers came in on THE ONE DATE we blacked out as an option, because we had a houseguest... who awoke to find that there was no water, no shower, no toothbrushing, and no toilet.

Aaaand I couldn't go with The Fella to his family's, because the plumbers need someone to lock up after them. (They only got into the apartment because our other houseguest had to creep out bright and early for a long drive to work; he had to leave the door unlocked.) They have been exceptionally speedy, professional, pleasant, and apologetic for the error, and we can only shrug and laugh.

Happily, my houseguest was able to get an early check-in for her working conference today, so we made a trip to the local coffeehouse to pee, relaxed for a bit, and then she packed off to her hotel room. What a sport she was!

My landlord was very apologetic and wants to talk to me about how to make it up to us, but I advised him to give me 24 hours to cool down before we talk. I AM EVER SO CROSS.

So, my to-do list:
- breathe deeply and calmly.
- clean the bathroom.
- take a long cool bath.
- take lemons, make lemonade.

Hmm: this question falls after a boring weekend in which I got a lot done. But on the agenda:
1. Get out for two to three runs and and least three sessions of hot yoga this week.
2. Commute to/from the train via bicycle at least twice again this week.
3. Hit the farmer's market across from work tomorrow for berries and fresh flowers.
4. Get rental DVDs in mail.
5. Teach my Australian Shepherd to get comfortable with WalkyDog so we can go for (short) bike runs.
6. Take a long weekend bike ride from one of the local parks to/from a bakery -- about 28 miles all told.
7. Usual weekly bill/financials update on computer.
9. Make the next dish in my Indian slow cooker cookbook.
10. Keep slogging through Blood Meridian, which I find very distasteful after just one chapter.

-Line up a 3rd inspector for the house for the house we are buying. Our inspector said there were a few termites. Seller asked for their own inspector and he found no termites. So now there has to be a tie-breaker!
-Start packing.(Buy boxes. and Aleve)
-Buy replacement charger for my cell phone.
-Go to the grocery store for heat and eat meals for my mom. She's in her 80s and doesn't cook any more. If we don't make sure she has food that's super easy she doesn't eat either.
-Mail Netflix vid. Thanks for the reminder, bearwife.
-Cook the roast I got on the weekend. I have a super easy recipe!

For some reason, I love these quasi-mundane posts the most. I remember Elvis Costello and Justine Frischmann interviewing each other in Q Magazine several eons ago, and they had a short little digression about how boys are inherent list-makers. Maybe that has some traction; I've certainly never forgotten it.

Aaaaaanyway, mine:

1. Continue my ramping-up workouts for boot camp, which begins this Saturday at 10AM. I've got five weeks to get in better shape for the Burn!

2. Adapt and dramaturg a few more plays for our next season so I can continue submitting invoices for extra revenue. I've got five weeks to buy all the stuff I need for the Burn!

3. The girl has a long-overdue toothy cleaning on Wednesday AM. There is a slight possibility she'll lose her back two teeth, but they won't know until they get in there and poke around a bit. (Since cleanings run about $500 at her vet, I'll really need to pick up extra work to compensate for the outlay.)

4. The m0+#3r-in-law is here for a "surprise" visit on Wednesday as well. I'll certainly empathize with my kitty if they end up pulling teeth, because my day will feel similar. She can be a ... challenging lady.

Finish take home grooming exam.
Grooming practical exams (one is out of the way, have another Tuesday evening and again on Thursday evening.)
Final grooming written exam (Wednesday evening.)
Get grooming certificate (Friday.)
Donate blood (Saturday morning, my friend does an annual health fair at the pharmacy he works at.)

I also need to visit and re-visit about 30 grooming shops during the days this week. Already had one demo day last week - they'll offer me a job but I'm not going to accept it because I just hated the place SO MUCH.
