What is this I don't even ... it is an animated GIF that looks to be of a real bird with its wings flared up to look like a huge face, but where's the head?→[More:]
I saw this on another forum, so I checked Tineye to see if I could find some other source of the image, and only found yet another forum where it was posted. Is it real, or a crafty bit of video editing?

Oh yeah, it's real. I saw it on some nature show on NatGeo channel. It's pretty cool ain't it. I'll try to google the episode.

His eyes are not the blue points, those are patches of feathers on his head...

That footage is from the BBC series Planet Earth. I can't remember offhand the name of the bird, but here's a youtube clip of the segment.
