My father in 1953, just before I was born, working in a camera store in Urbana, IL. He was offered Polaroid stock at $1 a share when Edwin Land gave a demo at the University of Illinois. He passed on it.

The only digital thing I have of my father. He was very sardonic and never as stern as he appears here. He is faining mock surprise/disgust that someone was taking his picture just as he came into the room.
