How is your Top 40 Ever list going? One more week! You should have fewer than 100 titles by now.

I have two playlists right now: Best 40 and Next 40 (actually 37), and have been moving songs back and forth, demoting and promoting at will. My criteria keep shifting, which is problematic.

I like that idea, julen. Maybe if I mess with my top rated playlist that way I can get there. Maybe not -- my ratings don't keep up with my listening.

But but but it's context-sensitive! My Top 40 Rainy Day Songs is totally different from my Top 40 Drinks At The Beach Songs which in turn has little overlap with my Top 40 Making Spaghetti Sauce Songs. I CAN'T DECIDE!

I'd love to do this, but I just flat out don't have the time right now with a wave of exams over the past ten days followed by Finals next week. But if folks are interested in doing like a "Top 25 Albums of all time" thing this Summer, I'd be in.

Looking forward to seeing others' lists though!

The problem I have is deciding if it's the best 40 songs or the best 40 songs that I want to hear. There are a lot of great songs that I never want to hear again because they've been played to death and then played again.
