Before the Hayes Code: a really interesting essay about the Hayes Code of the 1940s and 50s, and what getting rid of it did and didn't accomplish. (Also has several Max Fleischer cartoons embedded- man, 1930s cartoons were WEIRD.)
Oh, thanks. This is my favorite cinematic period and I'm always looking for good sources of info on it.
