My husband and I have Primus tickets for a local venue in late May.
I feel your glee. My kids are tweens and we are pointedly not taking them this time.
Also, when I was about the age of your child, I went with my folks to see Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. I do remember riding on my father's shoulders and the songs and the lights.
When I was 8-9, I got to see Harry Chapin live. He almost walked over me between the men's room and going to sign stuff to help folks in need. I remember this very clearly. I learned his music better and then felt strongly about his unexpected death when it happened a few years later.
So, what I'm saying is... your kid will remember, probably. Have fun!
Have fun! And don't forget the ear protection! I always kick myself in the pants about that, trying to use anything I can find to lessen the sound just a bit.
Speaking of festivals, yesterday felt like Coachella weather to me - the morning was dry and heating up, and I could imagine getting ready for a day of trekking around dead grass and hearing music for hours upon hours. So I taunted myself and looked at the line-up, and got all tingly-excited again. So I checked the tickets page, which first looked crazy (they have "new high security wristbands" you must wear when approaching the venue), and then appears to be completely sold out. Resale is around $500 for a three-day pass, and I have no where to stay. Oh well, back to the world of work.
