I'll put up the advance notice thread each Wednesday (around noon in Chicago) to give everyone a heads up for the theme of the week. Then, pjern will post a thread in the wee hours of Friday morning*. You just post your photo(s) that follow the theme as a comment (or comments) in the thread and we all get to marvel at all the other photos that are posted.

If you use Flikr, you can follow the instructions here. If you host your photos somewhere else and can't figure it out, I'm sure we can help. Feel free to try posting something in this thread to make sure you've got the hang of it.

You can see some of the previous threads linked on the front page sidebar, and there are links to previous threads on the Photo Friday wiki pages. I know, I know - the page is still outdated (I'm working on it, promise!) But feel free to add any theme ideas you have there.

Hopefully it goes without saying, but just in case: you should only be posting photos you've taken.

*Wee hours being relative, I guess. The post will most likely be the first to show up for Friday.

Metachat is what got me to create a Flickr account, dorgla. It is very, very easy, though I must say I've been lazy about uploading more of my photos to it.

Also, you are smart to ask. I just went ahead and posted photos I hadn't taken in my first Friday photo thread. The nice bunnies here were just politely silent about that faux pas.

Yeah, creating a Flickr account is super easy. There are other hosting sites like ImageShack and Photobucket. ImageShack is a little rough around the edges, while Flickr (and now Photobucket) are more geared toward sharing your photos with others.
