I have heard of these Japanese "torture" game shows. 15 months is a long time. I can't believe he agreed to it. Wow!

I've heard of this show, but never the details. I thought there was a similar thing done in the US or maybe the UK, but less brutal (I think the person was clothed), maybe limited to a one-month stay.

And Wikipedia has a bit more on Nasubi, "Eggplant" who was the contestant.
