In a move that probably presages the End of the Internet As We Know It: The folks over at Make Magazine have dredged up my very first published Web article, on How to Boot a Steam Locomotive. Eep!
That was a great read.

That is so cool -- make sure you go over to MAKE and comment.

I did, Jessamyn. It's funny to realize that something I wrote for USENET 20 years ago is still circulation... I guess the web really *is* forever.

I blabbed about it on Twitter. I got a photo reproduced in ReadyMade magazine without proper credit and that sort of thing always irks me a little Bytes are free, give everyone ample credit!

Jessamyn: Thanks for the tweet- I emailed the forum mods asking for a credit or at least a backlink. We'll see.

When I saw this post, I had a funny feeling I'd seen this article before. And sure enough, it's the same article I remember enjoying ages ago, probably before I had even heard of MetaFilter. And now here I am on MetaChat with the guy who wrote it. The Internet is a small world sometimes!
