I've taken to eating coffee beans. Is there any reason I shouldn't, besides it being an odd habit?
[More:]
My wife has cut her caffeine intake, so we don't brew pots of coffee any more, but we still have a canister of coffee beans at home. At first, I was eating a few with some chocolate. Now I have a little plastic container with coffee beans, almonds, and some delicious chocolate truffles to serve as my afternoon pick-me-up. While bitter, coffee beans don't taste so bad on their own.
Dear lord, I hope not.

The mister occasionally munches on them to no ill effect.

what zarq said. I get an acid stomach if I eat too many, but that's pretty rare.

Only when you bite down on a particularly hard one.

Although... you can brew only one or two cups at a time. I just fill my coffee mug with the desired amount of water (once or twice, dependin') and dump it in the coffee maker. A teaspoon of coffee per mug, and voila.

It's a good way to defuse garlic breath. I can't imagine any reason this would hurt you.

I have an unquenchable addiction to chocolate-covered espresso beans. If they were harmful, I would be dead by now. Yum.

I've been addicted to chocolate covered espresso beans (and occasionally I'll snack on a bean like you do) since I was thirteen. I'm fine. I haven't slept since 1997 though.
