Email signatures I needed to use this today to respond to an email, and it took me a while to think up the search terms to find it. So here it is, in case you'd been needing it, too:[More:]

READ CAREFULLY. By reading this email, you agree, on behalf of your employer, to release me from all obligations and waivers arising from any and all NON-NEGOTIATED agreements, licenses, terms-of-service, shrinkwrap, clickwrap, browsewrap, confidentiality, non-disclosure, non-compete and acceptable use policies ("BOGUS AGREEMENTS") that I have entered into with your employer, its partners, licensors, agents and assigns, in perpetuity, without prejudice to my ongoing rights and privileges. You further represent that you have the authority to release me from any BOGUS AGREEMENTS on behalf of your employer.
Oops. Forgot to make the "more inside" tag....

READ CAREFULLY. By reading this email, you agree, on behalf of your employer, to purchase and publish every writing proposal enclosed within at a premium over the going rate, to make full payment within 7 days of your acceptance, to feature them on the cover of any physical publication in which they appear and on the front page of any website 'above the fold', to include the url of my personal site with my by-line (as a link wherever published online), to send me caps and tshirts with your logo in my size twice annually (or more often if you make any change to the logo) with no obligation that I wear them in public and for your employer, its partners, licensors, agents and assigns, in perpetuity, to hold me blameless for any public statements I make about the advertisers whose ads appear adjacent to my content or anywhere else in your publication/website, or about any other writers whose content you provide a forum for (because most of them are total asshats).

I don't even know what all that means.

Point - did I get it?

On preview - that was addressed to aniola.

To be in any way legally binding, wouldn't that have to be the body of the email with the text to which it applies in an attachment?

Blanket legal disclaimers like this don't really have much effect, from what I understand, because (A) it's a blanket legal disclaimer, and (B) the recipient can always claim a circumstance that invalidates it, like they read the email while drunk, which makes it impossible to enter a legally binding contract.

I like the ones that tell you not to forward the email it's attached to. I always send those to my brother to share a laugh.

I love the ones that tell me I am doing something illegal if I am reading it and it was sent to me by mistake.
