Doesn't seem that long ago but Dad's been gone for almost a decade now and the kid's currently a pony-tailed, bearded college student. I'm a lot fatter, balder and grayer than I was in that picture.

Me in 1996-ish with my grandma who died a few years later. She was my favorite grandma, always dressed up and sassy. When I showed up with dreadlocks [which often looked even weirder than this] she told me "Those aren't real dreadlocks! Jamaicans have real dreadlocks!"

And that tower theatre looks so USA '40s. When a broadcast tower was a symbol of technology and entertainment.
