People are mad that the bridge has lighting?

This is one of my favorite bike bridges in Pittsburgh. It used to carry a mini-railroad that only ran between two halves of a steel mill on either side of the river.

Dunno. . the red LED's added a couple hundred grand but still the whole thing came in under budget.

The tea party types feel that it's government intervention, to build a bridge just for bikes (although we have quite a few here).

I will have to make a special trip to ride over it in that it would never be on one of my routes to get anywhere. . .but still, for the people on that side of town, it replaces an overpass that was just no fun to bike over, especially with cars close.

Our bike bridge has LEDs on it too, but I think yours is prettier.
