This story is blowing up right now, and the circumstances behind the reasons the teacher suspended his student are somewhat murky, but that doesn't change the fact that this kid stood up in front of a bunch of adults and spoke his mind in an adult fashion about a subject that most kids--and many adults--only joke about, or deny, or treat with ignorance and hate.
