Good news/Bad news [More:]I've had some of both this weekend.

Good news: My busy friend had time for a hike with me yesterday morning.
Bad news: I slipped and hurt my ankle on our hike and we had to turn back.

GN: We had time for coffee (we normally don't because our hike takes up all the available time she has).
BN: The cookie we had with coffee was not very good - and I rarely meet a cookie I don't like.

GN: This is Canada so I can have my ankle checked out for free at the hospital emergency department.
BN: This is Canada so it took 4 hours of waiting to find out it wasn't fractured and will just heal in time.

GN: It's NOT fractured!
BN: The doc said I can't run for a while.
GN: I've never been able to run so who cares?!
BN: I also can't go on my usual 20km exercise/hikes for a while.

M(ore) BN: my ankle hurts! Sorry for whining - I'm not used to hurting. It's not much fun.

So, how 'bout everyone else? Any good news/bad news?
hurting is not good :( glad it's not fractured though

Good news:
My date from the inTernETz was not painfully awkward, and although I am not interested in him romantically, I think we could be friends.

Bad news:
My ex was not good for me and not good to me, and yet, seeing him this week was hard. I wish we could be friends.

Thanks Firas. It'll be fine. Patience - I just need patience. That's not an easy one for me.

typewriter, sorry about that. Why is it that someone good for us is often not who we want (and vice versa)? Keep trying!

GN: I had a productive day. Wiped down the closets with bleach. Picked up my laundry from the laundromat. Cleaned the carpet in my apartment and it looks ten times better.

BN: Spent $15 on dry-cleaning a coat and had to spend an additional $5 on Zero Odor spray to remove the dry-cleaning smell which was still obnoxious the day after. When I spend that kind of money on cleaning a piece of clothing, it shouldn't stink!

GN: We've saved some money and can afford to get the front half of the house rewired this year. We had the back of the house done last spring.

BN: The electrician is coming tomorrow for an estimate tomorrow the house was/is an unholy wreck and I've been madly cleaning and re-arranging things all day.

Good news: the temperature finally dropped, so the asthmatic horse who can't sweat doesn't need to be under the AC all day anymore.

Bad news: she's got a nasty hoof abscess, hurting so much that it's making her tummy upset and she's been refusing to eat, which makes her tummy more upset. Vet came out yesterday (oh goodie, weekend emergency visit) and gave her the works. Which leads back to--

Good news: at least she's feeling a little better today.

Good news: the foam mattress pad I ordered came Friday and I am no longer waking up due to pain all the time. Oh man. Ooooh, man. I wake up in the morning feeling like I actually slept and with my back relaxed and happy.

Bad news: the lame horse needs half-carrying to get anywhere (she braces against a rope held by me & hubby to support her around the hindquarters), which re-aggravates my poor back that was finally getting some quality lovin'.

Still. The foam mattress pad will last much longer than the lameness. The sleep will be good the back relaxation will continue. Whoo.

Good News: Publishers are liking the pitch

Bad News: Completely paralyzed on how I'm going to realize it.

BN: No calls on either application for promotion

GN: For some reason, a staff vacancy has been given to me to fill and supervise. Fortunately I have evil plans ready

BN: Kitten is gone again. I'm hoping she's at another home and she'll show up soon. She's near full grown and fixed, but she's still my baby

GN: Boys are getting to be more interesting to chat with. Evil little minds. I approve.

BN: I apparently caught whatever virus caught my husband last weekend.
GN: I'm getting over it faster than he did, so I'm ready for work.

BN: My son went out hunting deer for the first time this past weekend, so I was both sick and freaked out.
GN: He was safe and winged a deer in the leg. He brought home some venison that his step-brother killed and that he helped clean. The extra good news is that white-tailed dear in Arkansas are overpopulated. So, even if a coyote gets the one he hit in the leg, it's not totally terrible.

My apologies to all veg bunnies. I don't like to eat red meat, regardless.

GN: I was social this weekend and got to hang out with new and old friends. Also kicked ass at pool, and it's rare when I can do that.

BN: I did nothing but sleep all day and eat yesterday so perhaps I'm still feeling a bit of depression. Or maybe it's malnutrition and sleep deprivation. And I can never tell which is which.

The bad news: The Fella's mother was hospitalized this weekend with chest pains. [I wrote and deleted a lot more, but you know it all: we're tired, we're worried, we love her.]

The good news: Prognosis is good, provided today's procedure goes well. We'll know soon, I hope. I don't think of myself as superstitious, but I must be, because I'm shamelessly begging for good thoughts, y'all. Wing 'em her way, would you?

GN: I'm currently in first place for the weekly football confidence pool at work. If Pittsburgh wins tonight, I win dollars.
BN: I'm doing very poorly in both my fantasy leagues. This makes me sad.

GN: I've discovered that egg nog and soco is delicious.
BN: This is going to lead to my drinking unnecessary calories and dairy. Hrmph.
