Supposedly the paint is non-toxic and doesn't hurt the maggot.

I didn't want to click the link, but I clicked it anyway. The art was cool, but the maggot was gross.

I half expected a statue made out of maggots or something, so this wasn't gross at all. I think it's maggots + decaying flesh that gives me the willies. An artist maggot is easy to handle.
