confession I have a problem with double/triple negatives in sentences. but it's not a straightforward problem[More:]

Like, I almost have 2 different ways of reading the sentence, the quick way where I get what the person is saying..

"few companies in the world will give you less of a chance.."

I can immediately tell what they mean here is "this company provides you the least chance"

but I have another way of reading the sentence, like a slower 'parsing' way that gets incredibly jammed up by that construction.. like I put "few companies" in my head, then try to take the next sentence and modify it with "less of a chance" and just get hopelessly muddled.. I need that version to go faster. Actually as I write this I realized that it's maybe easier to parse if you reverse the order of the things mentioned..
