Some Pig! Heritage Auction Gallery is auctioning the original illustrations for Charlotte's Web. I want one.
Ooohhhhhh. I want all of them. I loved every single one of E.B. White's children's books. Especially Charlotte's Web and Trumpet of the Swan, which I recently re-read and found to have an astonishing relevance to my life right now. Anyway .. thanks for posting this. It was really great looking at these pictures again after so long.

Oh, yeah. An amazing book. This is the one I'd want -- I've always been somehow drawn to the little vignette of Henry Fussy and Fern at the fair.

I'm surprised at how low the expected values are. When I think of the indifferent art often offered for $1500-2000 at galleries nearby, and think that one of these drawings could be had for the same, it doesn't seem to make sense.

I would also pay good money, if I had it, for a drawing of Margalo, or of Stuart in his snazzy outfit, from Stuart Little.

I think those estimates are low. Last year they sold two Stuart Little illustrations: here and here. Each one sold for $1792.00.

Oh, and something a little more pricier up for sale now. The original cover painting for the 1953 paperback of Catcher in the Rye.

I'd love to have this one. I've always loved the story and it doesn't hurt that my middle name is Fern.

I wonder what's happened to Garth Williams' originals from the Little House series.
