Last.fm plots artists' average popularity by gender and age. You can also generate a plot of your own (and up to 5 friends) over on the Last.fm playground page.

So you need to enter a gender and age? Then know the login name of friends for whom you want to see their plots?

I was with him until "So, you can now use this plot to decide which music you might want to listen to."

Reviews which refer to other music that I like, the recommendations of friends and family, illegal downloads, and listening to radio (airwaves or internet) are all helpful to me. This seems more like herding.

All this seemed to tell me when I plotted myself was that I like music that 25 year olds like. Oh, and Bobby Charles seems to be SUPER MANLY and a favourite of OLD people.

I am sort of assuming that a) lots of 25-29 year old provide data, and b) Bobby Charles confuses last.fm.
