Holiday weekend (U.S.) What's up, buttercup?
My husband comes home from orientation!!!!!

We're attending a Friday night Texas high school football game, planning a cookout and hoping the tomatoes are hanging on to their loveliness for one last burger. I love summer tomatoes!

Tonight: baseball game, including kosher dog and a draft beer.

Tomorrow: Sleep in, get lazy self out on a run with dog, errands, then take husband to dinner at local foodie restaurant we haven't tried before.

Sunday: Sunday breakfast with the honey and Sunday crossword, then in laws come by for a visit. Likely we'll be inside as it is going to be in 60s this weekend, but I'm sure my husband will barbecue anyway.

Monday: Nothing planned yet. Aaaahhh.

Hurricane Earl, which is not expected to do all that much actually.

Nothing planned for tonight, tomorrow, or Sunday, but there's a trip up to one set of parents on Monday for some smoked meat and discharging of firearms. (Neither has anything specifically to do with labor day, stepdad just enjoys grilling/smoking and target practice.)

Tonight: family pizza night, with chinese for me and hubby.
Saturday: Tackle the lawn somehow, hoping it doesn't rain or the city is going to be on me
Sunday: church and lazing about. Laundry. See above about rain
Monday: dunno. We should do some SCIENCE! Maybe bread machine playdough.

Today: Went to the gym (bought my yearlong pass, thanks pops!), did early voting (Board of Ed only since I'm unaffiliated), went to the ENT where they think I might have diabetes and so I have to go get bloodwork done (boo), and went to the pdoc to get more scripts and dropped those off but can't pick them up until 4.

Tomorrow: Schoolwork since I want to try and get ahead on the readings and assignments (if I can).

Sunday: Work. Probably picking up my pants in Ashton that my mother picked up from the tailor.

We bug out early tomorrow morning for VAAACAAATION and feeling really overdue for it. This is an annual Jersey Shore family vacation week where we pool our money and get a big beach house, and my brother and his wife and my parents and usually extended family and/or friends come along. Looking forward to extending summer with plenty of beach time, ocean swimming and wavejumping time, and boardwalk time. Some family drama is expected, but overall, I will relish getting away and soaking up some of the last major rays of summer.

Buying and assembling an Ikea wardrobe. I also expect drinking and cursing to be involved.

"Jersey Shore family vacation" That's a phrase that brings a much different visual than it would have five years ago...

Fortunately, the actual real-world Jersey Shore itself is pretty much unchanged, as long as you stay away from the clown show in Seaside.

Tomorrow: working all day/night, sigh.

Sunday: day off from Sunday School! Dinner and Anne of Green Gables movie at a friend's.

Monday: hanging with a friend and one of our favorite toddlers while her parents go see a movie. There may be a picnic since it seems like it'll be nice out.

Hooray holidays!

Tomorrow: baseball practice and a birthday party at the skating rink

Sunday: I don't know. My husband works weekends. Maybe I'll stay home. Clean. Practice piano with the kids.

Monday: beach and a bbq at my sister's.

JoanArkham, make sure you assemble that wardrobe in the room where it will stay. :)

We'll be:
- taking Otto to the lake for a long overdue swim (been too hot).
- Watching football (yay fall!!!),
- using our new dryer that won't burn the house down or smell like lighter fluid
- swimming saturday morning for the humans of the house
- general lollygagging & up to no goodery in an attempt to take a break from lack or work worries

Camping at the Fantastic Farm party with Bill Kirchen and On the Bus. Am bringing lasers, musical instruments, full-size hammock (and stand), and some non-essential stuff, too. Then welding on Monday.

Damn, I have some fun.

Tonight: homemade deli-type sammiches and watching Alice in Wonderland
Saturday: library, going to see Salt and probably a meal out
Sunday: unknown
Monday: unknown

There will be lots of World of Warcraft as well. I'm back to playing after a seven month hiatus. I'm on the Argent Dawn server if anyone here is there. Just search for [Save the Murlocs], I'm the Guild Manager.

Tonight: dealing with the 65 foot tree in the front yard that suddenly started splitting in two. A lot.
Tomorrow: I hope not more of the same. We'd planned to do a full-day session of our table-top gaming campaign. Which means I really ought to work on notes tonight, since I'm running the game.
Sunday: The Ren fair!
Monday: Grilling and such at a friend's place. Much relaxing, hopefully.

Saturday: Date (farmer's market, trail biking, food, movie)

Sunday: Work (holiday? what holiday?)

Monday: More work

Tomorrow: maybe the partner is going to fix my brakes. Me? Nothing. Thank heavens.

Sunday: nothing. Thank heavens.

Monday: Nothing. Thank heavens.

Sometime this weekend I should *grimace* probably finish the stories that were due on, like, Wednesday for work.

Tomorrow, my brother and aunt are having a party and I am the caterer. I just finished making a blueberry pie and getting the chicken breasts ready for satay (made marinade, cut chicken into strips, marinated.) Tomorrow there will be more cooking and then carrying it all over there, then grilling there. Yay party - it will be nice.

Sunday is LAAFF, the only festival in Asheville that I try my damnedest to never miss. Plan on being there from 3ish on.

Monday it is time to clean the damn house.

We are in Baltimore for a friend's wedding. Staying with the in-laws, although tonight we will be staying in downtown Baltimore for only our third full night away from the kid. (oh how I envy people who have family willing to babysit overnight living in the same city).
Tomorrow is visiting with friends and having a little party for the kid's 2nd bday.
Monday is back to NYC and it's my bday.

My weekend plans, such as they were, are going pleasantly to hell.

Example: I woke up in plenty of time this morning to get to the farmers' market, then instead I lollygagged around in my nightie drinking iced coffee. No tomatoes for me! And, uh, no dinner, either, I guess, since I was counting on the farmers' market to provide our meals for the next few days. Hmm.

BUT. A friend just emailed to invite us over Monday night to celebrate her near-completion of a long, arduous project, so things are looking up! Sangria at sunset!

I have big plans for the weekend! It mostly involves CLEANING ALL THE THINGS and getting ready for school which starts on Tuesday. Also I have to RUN MOAR so I don't feel totally behind on the MeFi running challenge scoreboard.

Heh. Go flex. CLEAN ALL THE THINGS!

I'm reading "Infinite Jest".
