Watch this I've been looking for a watch pendant necklace. They have some nice ones on Etsy for not much money (I like this one, this one and this one), but most of them don't run. Do you think it likely that, if I bought one that didn't work, that it could be fixed? They do seem to come from reputable brands.
Probably. Although I have no idea how much something like that would cost. Maybe you could find a watch repair place and discuss this with them before making a purchase, just to make sure getting the watch fixed wouldn't be cost prohibitive.

I own an old pocket watch myself, that I have hung on a gold chain as a pendant and wear sometimes. I do love it.

The key is a watch repair person that knows old watches. Check with local jewelers to see if they have such a person, or look in the yellow pages for watch repair and go have a heart to heart, before you buy your pendant. Then take it in to be spiffed up.

I actually think your best course of action is to find the watch repair person first and get your pendant through them.

I wore a nurse's watch on a figaro chain for a long time. I wish i knew what happened to it, but it kept fine time so that's an option.

A local jeweler who deals in estate jewelry might be your fastest route to locating a watch repair person knowledgeable in repairing older watches (or might be a source of pendant watches themselves). I think a mechanical watch has a reasonable likelihood of being repairable.

I'd take printouts of the pictures to a watch repair service and ask them if they have the technology.

Thanks for the advice, everyone.

I went ahead and bought this one. The description says it works "for days at a time", which is probably good enough because I won't be wearing it every day.

I also bought these little earrings.

J'adore Etsy!
