Metallica's first live performance of "Disposable Heroes" (1985) Because it's my favorite song on MoP. And because it rocks a bit harder than Dionne Warwick.
And perhaps because you're a bit more of a dick?

No criticism of the earlier post was intended. In fact, I sang the whole chorus after I saw it. Sorry if it sounded dicky.

What? "Master of Puppets" is the best song on MoP. Then "Battery". THEN "Disposable Heroes".

I know this to be true because someone once asked my opinion on this very issue, and that is what I told them. So I've said it twice: it must be true.

(Also: this rocks.)

That was awesome. They only managed one great album after MOP; the rest have been varying degrees of awful. And no love for Damage, Inc.? It's one hell of a way to end an album. I often wonder what Metallica would have been if Burton hadn't died. We wouldn't have had those god-awful Load and Reload albums. And, for that matter, the whole S&M thing.

"Master of Puppets", both the song and the album, are metal milestones. "Battery" and "Damage Inc." are almost as strong. The rest of the album is merely excellent. This is one of those rare albums where someone's choice of favorite song cannot be argued. Except for Ulrich's drumming, which wasn't all that remarkable anyway, this album has aged very well, unlike many other thrash albums.

I firmly believe the day Burton died metallica died. They should have retired after MoP.

...except I love Justice and wouldn't want it to not exist anymore.

I love justice too, and loved that tour. It doesn't sound like anything before or after it, so I sometimes forget it. But after that...
