I have decided that the amount of patience I have for computers is cratering.

If I click somefin and it takes a noticeable response time that's wrong!! That's just a hardware issue I guess.
But even menial tasks like.. so if I need to get a zip file for work right? I need to (a) switch to gmail (2) open the email (3) download the file (4) move it to my work folder from my downloads folder (5) unzip it there (6) get rid of the zip .. thaz just wrong!!
If I download an mp3 I have to move it out of my downloads folder into my music folder and then drag it into iTunes
I'mma start writing a bunch of scripts that automate all these things. Application window & file management is such a waste of time! Also I have to get multiple monitors ASAP for the window management issue
I also need to write some more complex scripts to put everything I work on into version control and push files from my computer to live servers straightforwardly (but that's standard practice in development I guess).
But also like, if I open a file that's not in version control and make a change and save it I don't want to depend on an undo history right? Need to find quick shortcuts to save immediate duplicate copies from within the program editing the file like thisfile-timestamp.doc
Basically investing time into picking & configuring things to make them faster and more automated rather than doing a 'quick extra thing' that adds up when you do it 100s of times.
Also little indignities like "I don't like that this browser such a way but I'll deal with it" aren't tolerable anymore!! Find a better way.
phew. I feel better now.
