Wow, they changed Google Images Like, just yesterday apparently. Still getting used to it. I use Images all the time; sometimes it's a good way to get research done backwards by looking for a likely visual to lead you to the good articles.
They changed ctrl+Z relatively recently, too. I think it would be neat to be able to have options for how ctrl+Z works.

That is SOOOO much better!

Not a fan of the new Google image search. I noticed it the day before yesterday and was surprised at the lack of fanfare/uproar about it. Now you have to mouse over the image to see it more clearly and to see the url, so for me it's more of a nuisance. I like to see a url before I click.

Now it's almost like Bing image search. I like the Bing a bit better though...Google is very busy visually. I use the Bing aerial view map every single day, it's invaluable while house hunting.

Can't get it here yet.

Don't like it.

I've been looking for pics of the haircut I want to get this week, and found this new layout really helpful for weeding out non-relevant results more quickly.

They're still showing the old interface here. Does anyone know where I might go to get the new one?

The new one kicked in for me yesterday. I don't hate it, but I'm still not loving it. I'm with iconomy that it seems like an extra step is needed to see what you're getting. The mobile version has looked like this for a while.

I think the new Google image search is a big improvement.

I hate it. There's a slickness to the design that makes my skin crawl. And I hate how the bigger image obscures things until you move your cursor away from it. And it overvalues each stupid picture by equating them in importance. They're not equal. I will decide their relative value, by choosing which thumbnails I want to explore further. I don't want Google doing things FOR me and TO me like this. Leave me alone, for christ's sake.

[Via Lifehacker - Get Back the Old Google Image Search with a URL Hack]:

If you don't like the new Google Image Search design, add:
&sout=1
to the URL to use the the "basic" (i.e. old) version. Update your bookmarked keyword searches accordingly.

So, for example:

http://images.google.com/images?q=puppy
...would become:
http://images.google.com/images?q=puppy&sout=1

Bottom line: To make Google images usable again, just click on the Images link in Google Search, then add "&sout=1" to the end of whatever is in the URL bar.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a response to the way MS Live Images looks?
Which goes to show that even Google needs competition to stay sharp.

I guess my opinion is unpopular, but I like it. It lets you scan a lot more things at one view before deciding which ones to explore.

I love it. It's better than a pony. I am going to brush it and ride it every day.

I like it - it removes all the stuff associated with the image until you want to explore an image further.

They're still showing the old interface here. Does anyone know where I might go to get the new one?
For me, it doesn't come up using images.google.com.au but, if I remove the .au from the URL, it shows the new version.

Add me to the "like" column. And, oddly enough, I've had it for several days. Canada ain't suckin' hind tit for once, yay!
