Do you use expressions like "It was a year ago, ish"? Is that a thing? I used that with a client today and she kept using it back and I wasn't sure if it's because it's a normal thing or because my client was picking up on my usage.
Sure, it seems normal to me. Sometimes I accidentally copy people's affects or speech patterns too.

It's pretty common here in the UK.

"No. No, man. Shit, no, man. I believe you'd get your ass kicked sayin' something like that, man."

Normal in the midwest, yeah.

Yeah, I think I've likely said that...I definitely use "ish" just not 100% sure on how I slide it into the sentence at any given time. Ish also plays a part in one of my favourite parts of "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish"

And, yes, I do also tend to steal phrases from people I talk to. I don't do it intentionally at times.

Thanks. I have no problem with her picking it up from me, if that's what happened, it just seemed odd because it was the first time we met and clients don't normally mirror back language that quickly. So I couldn't figure out if it was something clinically significant, or if I was just being a dork. :-)

See, now I'M not clear on if you're a dork or not.

I'm a dork. :-)

Mainly because I was all, "Wow, we're really bonding, she's picking up my language!" and it turns out that no, people just use words the same way that I do, sometimes.

Ahh gotcha. Well you're a well-intentioned dork, which is a good kind, I think. So there.

Normal depends on where you are I guess. I've heard people use it other places but I've not heard it much if at all in the South (except from people not from here).

Are these shipping rates unreasonable, or am I? || Update to last week's sad thread (note: not sad)
