people, I have discovered POWDER for one's skin. This is the greatest thing ever. I am convinced that the moisturizer/deodorant etc. lobbies have far too long blinded us to its benefits.[More:]

Screw putting lotion on after a shower I want to walk into a puff of talcum!!
It is also handy for cutting / diluting your crack inventory

If you're really excited by powder, perhaps use corn starch instead?

damn gosh! that's a downer. I just need its anti-heat properties. the weather out in Delhi is wretched now I tell you, WRETCHED with humidity and heat and oh god sometimes I feel like Meursault on the beach

What you really need is a sponge bath.

The Beese family jewels can vouch for Johnson's Lavender & Chamomile Baby Powder.

I think as long as you aren't snorting it you are probably ok. Walking into a puff probably isn't the best idea - but you can apply it in a reserved fashion and not breathe it in.

Just talc though - meh. This is what I swear by (and am currently wearing) - St Luke's Snake Brand Prickly Heat Powder (review). It has menthol in it so it cools you down at the same time. Comes from Thailand/Singapore but I bet you can easily find it near you.

AWESOME stuff.

I'll just wait for the Old Spice Guy to endorse it. Oh, look!

A corn starch based body powder is amazing in hot humid weather.

I stocked up back in May - it was a bit of an effort to find finely milled cornstarch-based powder with a bit of moisturizer (like cocoa butter) that didn't also smell overly sweet to me (ended up with this), but it was definitely worth it to be able to get out of the shower and cool off quickly. Also, on humid nights a little powder sprinkled on the bedsheets really cuts down on the nasty stickiness.

OH SWEET BABY POWDER. We have baby powder all over the place --- in the bathroom, in the car, on a shelf where I put my shoes on before leaving the house, and several mini bottles stashed in my various bags. I couldn't make it through the summer without baby powder.

My powder says it's made with corn starch. Am I unconsciously picking out the cornstarch kind off the grocery shelf, or is most baby powder in the U.S. now made with cornstarch rather than talc?

My father-in-law gave us all Anti Monkey Butt powder as a stocking stuffer one Christmas. We thought it was hilarious, but it turned out to be a great product.

Love powder. Especially Silky Underwear.

I should probably use baby powder instead of Body Glide (feet and chub rub) because, damn, nobody carries Body Glide but the bike store.

How do you put powder on without making your bathroom look like a bakery? I don't think I've ever used powder that wasn't poufed lovingly onto my face by a theatrical makeup lady.

I use a large makeup brush for powder application, which reduces the incidence of billowing, powdery clouds. I'd like to find a bigger brush, but it works pretty well at limiting (not eliminating) powder fallout.

out here in insecure het male land we don't use poufs and brushes so I just use it like body wash--squeeze it into your hand, then put it on ya skin, etc. that makes moderation of the volume applied harder tho

I don't know if it's available outside the US, but Gold Bond Ultimate Powder is cornstarch-based and rocks my summertime world.
