Midweek update Decide how many points you need![More:]
1. I got my nose pierced. Wow did that hurt. It was like all the pain of a tattoo crammed into five seconds of HOLY MOTHER OF GOD.

2. I am having a party on friday. To this end I should be cleaning my house. Instead I am texting with a friend of mine, working on my novel, and surfing the web. I have no willpower.

3. I got this and this and have to say, even using it just once, my skin DOES look better. I'm impressed. And sad since I can't afford stuff that fancy once it's gone.
3.1 And I just found out two seconds ago I'm going to be an aunt!

Way to go on getting your nose pierced! It looks great! And yeah, mine hurt too.

And congrats on your soon-to-be aunt status!

1. I still want to get my nose re-pierced (third time's a charm?)

2. My eye is healing nicely, the gas bubble obscuring my vision is shrinking quickly

3. I gotta pee

1. Went to a local Barnes & Noble today (even though I dislike that chain), because A) they are selling Criterion Collection DVDs for 50% off this week and B) I have no consumer morals. Bought 5 fantastic movies for the price of 2-and-a-half. Going to embark on a personal film fest tomorrow and Friday.

1a. Also, perusing the racks, I was a little taken aback at how many Criterion DVDs I already have. Cinema geek crack, this shit is. It's a little startling to suddenly realize a habit you didn't know you had.

2. Just spent a long weekend with BitterOldPunk and Elizarde and I'm still feeling the warm glow. It's so life-reaffirming to spend time with friends you love a lot, especially when geography keeps you from doing it all the time.

3. About to have tuna salad sandwiches for dinner, on bread MADE BY ELIZARDE. (It's sourdough.) If that isn't awesome I don't know what is.

3a. I am momentarily the bad guy for telling tipsy husband he can't wear his sunglasses at the dinner table and instead needs to find his damn glasses. But he just found them, finally, so we are fine. Life among the fabulous.

Good. The plays at this years Fringe Festival are great as are most of the artists!

Bad. The lack of organization by the Fringe organizers is making me homicidal.

Good. The chair of the board for the Fringe organizers asked me lots of questions today and seems determined to ensure next year is better.

I love love love LOVE the Philosophy line of face care. I started with the Dry & Sensitive kit, and my skin has been so happy since. Now I buy the face wash (plus: it removes makeup!) in the gigantic tubs when it goes on sale at Nordstrom for $45, it lasts me most of a year. Only product of theirs I've had problems with was the Microdelivery Peel - that stuff just buuurned on my sensitive skin. But the Microdelivery Exfoliating wash is very nice.

A. Steve gave me his Man Cold and it's just today moved from a stabby throat to gnomes in my sinuses pushing on my eyeballs and making me sneeze.

B. Kleenex with lotion. Why have I never bought this before? It's fantastic!

C. My guy just made me cookies from scratch. He is awesome.

D. Looking forward to conducting interviews tomorrow, hope that I can stifle my cold with enough medicine to make it through.

1. Spent all evening at a cafe with my laptop and had yummy tea and bruschetta while I worked

2. Wore a new top that I was initially a little ambivalent about but it turns out I really like it (plus it was super on sale)

3. Should be in bed; am not

1. Listening to Jack Johnson avoiding going to the office and planning stuff; luckily I've got a very flexible work-from-home-and-only-go-in-to-the-office-when-it's-totally-necessary thing going on this summer. He has this lyric in "Banana Pancakes": "This song is meant to keep you / From doing what you're supposed to" and that's me.

2. Dinner invitation for Friday.

3. Dinner invitation and overnight stay for Saturday and Sunday.

4. Ahhhhh.

Congratulations, kellydamnit! Being an aunt is so! much! fun!

1. This afternoon I have an office visit to get ready for my yet-unscheduled Horrible Dental Surgery. It's just for x-rays and assessment, so I don't expect it will be too Horrible.

2. There is nothing else: dental phobia erased everything else from my mind.

That piercing is so cute!

1. I'm late, but this post showed up right when I was going to bed.

2. I think the medication might be starting to work.

3. I have to go the gym today and then to NARA tomorrow for my very first day of volunteering.

4. I'm scared shitless about a presentation that I have to give on Sunday to a bunch of Baltimore architects about the collection of drawings that I processed. I just have to keep telling myself that my boss and the head of that department wouldn't be letting me do this if they thought I was going to completely fuck it up. Right?

5. More construction at the condo because the contractor completely fucked up the curbs. Awesome to wake up to that at 7am this morning. Blech.

1. Choir starts tonight! I'll have four days off in the next three weeks. Yay!

2. Guess who hasn't looked at the music yet? Yay!

3. You know, when I try to do something nice for my mom (making her a rehearsal cd -- she's in choir too), I wish she would got-danged call me back. I left her a message, for pete's sake!
