Oh, too funny. I am a gun rights person, but I can't imagine running on that basis, and I thought this was utterly ridiculous. She's extra air (rifle?) headed for approving the ad.

I think you're being very small minded about this.
That's just their culture. Just because we don't tote guns and let our sick fellow man go bankrupt here in Europe that doesn't mean that their doing so is wrong.
I've met US Americans and I've visited the US; when you can get them to lay down their arms they turn out to be ok.
As long as you don't mention you're from socialist Europe that is.
