That's pretty cool.

I would have "doodled" something lame like a grocery or to-do list, or at best something like a project idea.

Inspired by his example, I went ahead and did a quick doodle of the artist himself:

If I remember correctly, Franken is able to draw, freehand and from memory, an extremely accurate map of the US with all states filled in (or at least the lower 48). This is, I might add, ridiculously much harder than one might think it would be without having tried it.

Yeah the drawing the US thing is seriously cool to watch. I tried it and hoo boy am I ridiculous.

Holy crap. That's amazing. (The map thing.)

Oh, the things he might have drawn that would have gotten him into trouble. That pic of the other senator could have been far more caricaturish, and any drawing of the nominee would have gotten into dangerous territory.

Nice work, Atom Eyes.

As this is Sen. Al, I wonder what captions he plans to add when back in his office . . .

The map things is especially impressive since he does it while speaking in front of people and taking questions at his fundraising events.

Man, the number of times I've been accused to "not paying attention" while doodling while require a cluster of supercomputers to calculate. I am paying attention! Rapt attention! I need to write things down to remember them and I'm kind of twitchy! Why do you care?! ARGH. Grade school *sucked*.
