Pretty microphotographs of drinks →[More:]presented as a slightly annoying slideshow at the Telegraph. The source of the images are here

The drinks are dropped on a microscope slide, allowed to dry out and then photographed through polarizing filters. They may be photoshopped to enhance the color saturation.

These are so fabulously beautiful, they're amazing. It always kind of throws me, the way that things taken down to a microscopic level always hit us aesthetically as stunningly beautiful. Like there's some kind of programming level, some kind of hardwired thing that says, look, these are the building blocks.

Yeah, these are awesome. I like the margarita - it looks like muscle fibers - and the pina colada (very butterfly-y).
