Need a mnemonic device Unkempt guy, hairy beard,→[More:]works for my boss, comes to office only once every 2-3 months so I never remember his name, which is Floyd. Supposedly I ought to be able to use mnemonics to connect his looks or my general impression of him with his name. Mnemonics are not that easy.

Dirty hippies love Pink Floyd. Do this: next time you see him, mutter quietly to yourself (in your best Muppet hippie voice) "Check it out: the Floyd's back in town!" The name should stick from then on.

I find the more visceral you can make his secret nickname the easier to remember.

e.g. "Stinky don't-wanna-fuck-Floyd" would work for me.
