Holy crap, Guru died?! I have so much love for that man's music, I can't believe he's gone. F**k cancer.

Both Gangstarr and the Jazzmatazz project were so integral to my musical upbringing, I can't believe he's gone at 43. I knew he was sick, but I thought he was on the mend. I am so sad to hear that he was beefing with DJ Premier in the end.

I don't 100% believe that anti-Primo statement was written by him in clear mind. There's something really fishy going on with this Solar guy, nobody had access to Guru for months, etc.

Yeah, the whole situation blows. I got to see GangStarr play live once, and it was awfully fucking impressive. FWIW, I've seen a lot of hip-hop folks saying that the Solar stuff is at best sketchy and a worst criminal.

But the main point: RIP Guru.
