If the boy or girl manages to avoid the ‘hit’, they are given the cake as a birthday present. Well, that’s alright then.
But you could get a cake! (Which may have been thrown at you, in which case, it's a rather messy cake - this, in turn, reminds me of the "found cake vs litter" debate).
