Are these bananas too far gone to make banana nut bread/muffins?

no they're only getting close to good!

fwiw I leave them go completely black. As long as there's no mold, the longer you leave them, the more starch is converted to sugar in the fruit. Translation: amazing, sweet, moist banana bread.

Pfft! They haven't even fallen off the banana hanger dealy, yet! You need to wait at least until they've separated from their stems and dropped to the ground, collapsing in upon themselves into a puddle of brownish-black goo on the floor. Tasty, tasty goo.

Peel them, put them in a container in the freezer or tomorrow night and take them out the next morning.
