If you'd like to call this war, fine. But what is spreading across Africa like a viral pandemic is actually just opportunistic, heavily armed banditry.
War is not so different elsewhere. This is simply the pre-Westphalia version.
Something like the aphorism -- a language is a dialect with an army and navy. War is banditry with a recognized government (on at least one side).
