3 songs you think everyone should have heard for musical literacy don't need to be too fussy about it; just what pops into your head.[More:]
1. Faure Pavane op. 50
2. Jailhouse Rock (Elvis)
3. Billie Jean (MJ)
1. Bohemian Rhapsody
2. Blowin' in the Wind
3. I Wanna Hold Your Hand

You are completely musically illiterate in my eyes if you don't know the brilliance of these three:

1. Feels Like I'm In Love - Kelly Marie
2. The Key, The Secret - Urban Cookie Collective
3. Anticipating - Britney Spears

Wynona's Big Brown Beaver
Mississippi Squirrel Revival
One Night in Bangkok

And of course the Meow Mix song is just a given so I didn't include it.

Oh man, Mississippi Squirrel Revival is truly a great song.

I would choose:
I Will -- The Beatles
Poisoning Pigeons in the Park -- Tom Lehrer
Poeme Roumain -- George Enescu

Everyone should listen to more Enescu. He is really quite lovely. I have been cursed (by a pigeon lover) for sending him the second song. The first song just makes me smile.
