Neologisms & New Idioms or Coinages
Nom de Grrrrrr: a moniker adopted solely for making angry forum posts.

That a good one, and quite useful!

In the last week or so, I've been stuck on the phrase, "don't let worms play penuchle on your snout." I have no Idea where it came from or what it means.

My understanding is that the worms crawl in, and then they crawl out, and then they may play pinochle on your snout.

One version of the rhyme I know is listed on Playground Jungle, and there are a bunch more on Cemetary Culture.

Last week, I heard two people at work speak of a mutually beneficial partnership using the phrase "You got a barn, I got a band, let's put on a show!"

"Did you beat that?" for "Did you have sex with her?"

I don't think I've ever seen penuchle written before.

Yesterday I used the phrase "scrimshawing hotdogs" to mean doing intricate superficial work on something that isn't worth it and won't last. "Rappers can rhyme and flow all they want but if their lines don't make sense or mean anything, they're just scrimshawing hotdogs." See also "dogshit filigree."

I doubt it'll get much traction.

Celligagger: someone who blocks a pedestrian space by stepping aimlessly around while talking into a cellphone. See also: moblivious.

I am SO stealing "scrimshawing hotdogs".
