This is a soothing thread. There, there, little bunnies.→[More:]

I'm back at work after nearly three weeks off. I was in Florida visiting my ailing grandfather, and he died on Wednesday. I'm very grateful to have seen him; we had such a lovely visit. And I'm so grateful to my uncle, who made it possible for him to die at home and in comfort. Bless them both.

So I'm feeling pretty jet lagged and fragile, and need some of that sweet MetaChat vibe. And I offer my own soothing pats and murmurs to anyone who needs 'em.

I'm so sorry Specklet! My grandfather died on Feb 13th so this is close to home for me. I am glad you got to see your grandfather, had a lovely visit and that he was at home. (My grandfather lived within miles of me so I got to see him tons over the years.)

Memories and smiles and a hot cup of something sweet, a look out the window, see something growing, the sun pokes through the clouds, life begins to move; yeah, and another big warm hug 'cuz every little bit helps. Big, warm hugs to everyone, extras to (((Specklet and FBK))).

Not nearly as serious, but I had to have one of my rats (Becket) put to sleep yesterday. He had a lump suddenly show up this week and had lost a lot of weight. The vet confirmed what I thought - cancer. And although Becket didn't seem to be in any pain, I didn't want him to get to that point.
