I was so happy to find out that when Slash plays Guitar Hero, he can only play it at 'medium' level, same as me. Heh.

So wait, if Jeff Beck is still alive, who's the guy who did "Hallelujah" and died young?
posted by Eideteker 17 February | 06:42
Oh, that was this guy.

Nice use of harmonics!

Odd of them to both hook in and insult younger, less-curmudgeonly readers with the Guitar Hero dismissal. Beck is a monster guitarist and can do or not do whatever he wants, but at the end of the day that bit was a distracting sidebar of "65-year-old man dislikes things kids today are doing".

This is a good thread to ask what's probably a stupid question:

Will the guitar controllers from Guitar Hero also work with Rock Band? There aren't any new buttons or functions on the RB guitars, are there?

Will they work? The short answer is maybe.

Also, Leonard Cohen is still alive.

Thanks, box- it looks like my old controller is forward compatible after all.

I think Eideteker is thinking of Jeff Buckley, who is indeed tragically dead. He covered Hallelujah on one of his albums.

Oh wait, he totally figured that out himself.

Good for the old guy! Seriously, I'm always happy to learn about a successful, talented individual who can still say 'No' on occasion, even when someone's dangling a sack full of money in front of his face. And the upshot of his being a recluse is that I've not grown completely sick of seeing his face. (Clapton, I'm looking at you.)
